the rights practice: partnerships for rights and justice
Sharing Our Experience

An important dimension of our work is to share our experience of the practical challenges of realising human rights goals around the world and promoting the value of international exchange and cooperation.

The Rights Practice staff and partners produce occasional Working Papers examining the issues that underlie our project work. Recent topics include a feasibility study on prison monitoring and Chinese detention centre regulations. Please contact the Director for further details and to receive an electronic copy.

Consulting assignments provide an invaluable opportunity not only to benefit from sharing our knowledge with others, but also to learn from the experience of other countries and organisations.

Recent assignments include:

  • Technical cooperation with China, on behalf of the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights
  • Abolition of the death penalty in the Kyrgyz Republic, on behalf of the Global Opportunities Fund, FCO
  • Children in Conflict with the Law Training Manual, on behalf of SPARC, Pakistan
  • Human rights training, on behalf of STMicroelectronics
