Jennifer Eikren joined The Rights Practice in 2007. She is stepping down this August, after twelve years during which she set up our U.S. office and oversaw an innovative programme of public participation in China.  The Rights Practice will miss her dedication and efficiency.  We wish her well in her next venture.

From Jennifer:

Over the past 12 years, it has been an incredible privilege to work with so many fearless, creative and inspiring Chinese human rights defenders and advocates. I have learned much from working alongside them and with my committed TRP colleagues, Board of Directors, and members of the international community in these efforts. Whether focused on promoting women’s rights, the rights of the accused, or the right of citizens to participate in public decision-making, the undaunted work of Chinese civil society continues to give me hope - even in this time of severely closing space for human rights advocacy. I look forward to building on what I have learned with The Rights Practice to further human rights in practice in the years ahead.
