Uyghurs in the diaspora face many challenges and uncertainty. The ongoing persecution of Uyghurs, and other Turkic Muslim groups, by the Chinese government in the Uyghur region also impacts the community living outside of China.

The Rights Practice has produced a new handbook to address some of these concerns and the needs of Uyghurs living in the UK. It is a practical guide which we hope will help the community better understand their rights in the UK as well as relevant Chinese law. We also hope this handbook will assist organisations working with Uyghurs to better understand their concerns.

The content of this handbook draws on conversations with members of the Uyghur diaspora and our extensive experience of Chinese and international law. We also sought input from immigration and UK legal experts and a mental health specialist. We provide advice for dealing with harassment and include tips for good digital hygiene.
