On 23 June 2022, The Rights Practice was delighted to hold an the online launch event for our Handbook for the Uyghur Community in the UK.

This was a chance to learn, at first hand, about the concerns of the Uyghur community in Britain. We also introduced how the handbook could help Uyghurs adjust to living in the UK, protect themselves from state harassment and seek information about missing friends and relatives in China.

We were joined by three excellent speakers: Maira Aisaeva, Director & Chair of UK Uyghur Community; Yerbakyt Otarbay, Camp survivor, witness at Uyghur Tribunal and Michael Polak, Barrister specialising in criminal, public and human rights law. Member of Church Court Chambers, director of Justice Abroad.
